Website 101

Websites are not as complicated a topic as one might think at first. Websites essentially consist of some programming code located on a remote computer and a web browser that enables the viewer to see this code.

Because the internet is a connection of global computers all websites must be house in a remote-accessible computer referred to as a server. Servers are simply computers that are hooked up to an internet connection and allow remote users to access data.

The programming language housed on a remote server is referred to as HTML or Hyper Text Markup Language. All this means When a domain name is typed into a web browser ( IE, Firefox, Safari, Netscape, Etc.) the web browser accesses this programming language and uses the instructions to display a website.

The capabilities of this programming language is vast. Websites can display information, or may be an interactive tool to draw information from your visitors. The possibilities are only bound by your imagination and budget. The more features on a website the more intensive and the higher the cost.
